Cruelty of fashion
It's funny how in movies we periodically see some insecure girl looking at fashion magazines. We all know that the movies are not the only places in which that event takes place. Well, i'm here to say that the model's face you see in those shots are not her own. Why not? See for yourself....

Christmas
The one thing I want to do after a long, happy Christmas day is just sigh. I'm wearing new clothes, eating new candy, and experiencing new things. But the one thing that never changes from year to year is that timeless phrase, "Merry Christmas!" I'm reluctant to say that I've been lenient on the usage of it this season. But sometimes, when I actually did, the scenario didn't call for it.
Like when these Jehovah's witnesses showed up at our door, (for a lack of a better word) advertising a program showing Christ's life, chronologically. We, being LDS, turned them down, of course. But then in my stupidity I forgot they don't celebrate holidays (would some care to drop a line on why?), and wished them a merry Christmas on their way out. When they didn't return the favor, it dawned on me. Duh! But it was too late. My little bro shut the door, and I couldn't apologize. I felt pretty bad.
Other than that, the recipients of my Christmas cheer celebrated Christmas themselves. And I'm glad to say that this Christmas will go down in my books as one of the best ever, and not just because I got a PSP. And I hope that it was the same for all of you.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Snow
One of the most comforting sights is a world freshly laden with snow, untouched, untainted. And when you step outside, you want to be the first one to make an imprint, but yet you don't want to disturb it. Deciding against it, you go inside and grab a cup of hot cocoa. Later, your little brother goes outside and screws it up without a second thought. And that alone gives you permission.
You go outside, both pleased and pained by the sound of the muffled "crunch" under your foot with each step. "Hypocrite," you say to yourself. You stop. Your mumble was scarcely heard by your own ears. It is at this moment that you realize the world is not making a sound. You slow your breathing. The silence is unbearable. For comfort, you whisper, "whoa." But the sound seems to have traveled mere feet before dying. The snow silenced even the slightest peep. This gives you real cause for discomfort.
And then, emancipation. A snowball hits you in the triceps surprisingly hard, and giggles erupt from a nearby bush. I totally should have been ready for that, your inner snow warrior says. Your reflexes take over your body for an instant, and then you find yourself behind a tree, ideal snowball in hand. You take aim.....And the rest of the afternoon is a blur, but you can remember it was fun.
Thanks for letting me practice my writing skills on you for a sec. Will you let me know how it is? Merci.

Thanksgiving
Well, Thanksgiving is here, and i'm not sure just exactly what i'm thankful for. It's funny, how usually people just say something simple, like, "I'm thankful for my family." But it dosen't go much deeper. That's all. I think people are either just lazy, or they don't want to contemplate it all. Those to whom the previous sentence applies, don't read any further. I do like to contemplate it all. I do it all the time. I think about the universe, how it works, and who created it (that's right, you atheists, I BELIEVE IN THE ETERNAL, ALMIGHTY, OMNIPOTENT GOD). And then I think about what I am compared to Him. I am nothing. I think that the people who don't realize that on purpose need a wake-up call. Which has brought me to realize what I'm thankful for....
I'm thankful for every single healthy breath I take.
Have a great Thanksgiving, and God bless you all.

Halloween
Well, Halloween has come and gone, another toon of Homestar Runner (www.homestarunner.com, go to toons, then holiday, and enjoy) watched. My mom says it is the last year for trick-or-treating. And, I don't wish I had any more candy, surprisingly. I'm satisfied with my 5-pound bundle. I was Death. A pretty good last costume, one that I got satisfying reactions from various stores as we stopped by on our way home from a Halloween party on Saturday. It was funny to hear the toddlers in the parking lot go,"Mommy, there's a monster out there!"
Yep definitely a good one. Next year we're staying home, and watching Psycho and The Birds. It'll be fun, and it was fun. See you next year!
P.S.
you have to go see these outrageous pumkins at www.extremepumpkins.com !

Secret
Did I ever tell you I've been to New York City? Well, I have. It was cool, definitely worth the 5-hour flight. They say not to spend all your time in Times Square, but we did anyway. I don't regret it.
Things to see:
Regular streets. Why? Because most of the time, on your left you have new, modern buildings, and on your right, you have 17th-century (I'm not sure about the 17th part) stone buildings, that have character gained over 400 years. It's cool because if you face the old side, then turn around, it's like a total reality check.
Old churches. The carvings on those things are insanely intricate.

Isn't that amazing?
Times Square. Oh man, there's so many things to see, I can't even name them all, except see everything, and take a picture with a wax celeb. And try to get a ride on the circular, multi-person bike thing. That was a cool experience!
Oh, and close to Times Square, there's this whole street filled with food stores, like Coldstone, McDonald's, all that good stuff. Eat at the Italian fast-food place, and eat a garlic roll. YUM!

Love of music
I dont' know about y'all, but i could die for classical music. I seriously l o v e it. Some of my favorites are Chopin, Haydn, Beethoven, And Mozart. My favorite work of Mozart is the magic flute, string quartet no. 14 in G, and symphony no. 25 in G minor. You could knock me down with some of those. I don't know why it's dissapearing, though. Perhaps today's culture deemed it as "uncool", i don't know, but it's sad. Listen! It can be enlightening.
Another cool genre of music is techno. You can find yourself on another planet sometimes listening to that stuff. One song i heard combined my two favorite genres: classical and techno! An artist remixed Fur Elise, and that was awesome to hear.
With classical music, or any music really, you can tell the mood of the composer as you listen. And if you know enough about the artist at the time he/she wrote a song, you can tie events to the mood of the song, like if the artist experienced a loss or tragedy, possibly the song they wrote would express sadness or lamentation. It's very cool. Let me leave you with that.

dude!
Man, i have got to post more often!! And i thought that it took too long to check out your groceries! Lemme tell ya, i've kinda been busy w/ school and all, but that is no excuse, because i had all winter break to post, and i didn't! But i probably don't have too many readers anyway, even though that's not an excuse!
Well, i got an F in Language Arts, but that's probably because i've never been schooled in it before. The good news is, i got an A- in Math! Yay!!! I don't know about science, though. More updates l8r.

Mystery, not love, in the air
Shoot, it's been a while since i've made a post. Anyways, to day is St. Valentine's day today. It's funny, there are several supposed legends behind the holiday, all of them not too clear. Love, mystery, romance, all over a holiday and we don't know how it all got started. I find that hil- ar-i-ous.
I actually gave a strapping young lad a valentine, and he dosen't know who it's from. Tee-hee! I even went through the trouble to make a pop-up heart in the card. Pity he can't really appreciate it, on account he can't thank whomever gave it to him. I'll say it again: Tee-hee!! I feel kind of mischevous about the whole thing. It's a good feeling. This time i'm not the one in the dark. I can't stop myself, although this will be the last time without it being old: Tee-hee! Ha ha ha !
I got my fair share of candy today, i feel knid of bad that i didn't give my fair share. Not too much, but just enough to get a boost of energy without being totally debilatated when it comes to concentrating. The best part is, i don't have homework!!! Score 1 for thinker!!!! Oh yeah!

Day #1 @ school/ life lessons
Well, today wasn't so bad... my friend showed me most of the school. The kids were okay, the teachers accomodating. I was a litttle nervous at first, then i eased up as the day went on. It was cold. Oh, it was Sacajwea middle. Thought you might want to know.
You know, i think that the fear and uncertainty is the real mind-killer, not the thing that we are uncertain about. Like when i got my ears pierced, i felt real sick, so afraid before i actually got them pierced. Then it was like, whoa, that wasn't so bad. I wonder what i was so afraid of... aside from the alcohol sting, of course.
Sometimes we (or i, for that matter) seriously need to stop being so, well, serious on the little things. That's why they are called little. Sure, there are some things that we really need to be hard-core on, but not on everything. I guess that's what life is all about, learning from our mistakes so we can improve. It's fun to have an epiphany every once in a while.

Time train
Can you believe that today is the last day of January? It's just not fair. Time passes so quickly nowadays, you have to do what you need to do now. It's like we're all on a train, with life just whizzing by. We grow older. We grow wiser. We learn. But life, nonetheless, still whizzes by.
My mother said she has to go to work now. I start school tomorrow. See how fast my homeschool went? I'll be going inot 7th grade. Middle school.
Here goes..........

CSI = cool
I don't know about y'all, but i love CSI. The characters are really real, and there's always a new ingredient to the mix of a dash of humor, a pinch of romance, and a lot of other stuff that i just can't think of right now. Alas. Anyway, like i said, there's always some new twist in the plot, not just same- 'ol, same- 'ol. And the responses aren't a- social, either. Unlike Lost, or Invasion. It just presses all my right bouttons, i guess.
Although i am compelled to question some style choices. Like Nick's hair right now. It totally looks like one of the Beatles. The mustache kinda pulled it together, but no one likes to see a mustache on Nick, and once he lost the musthache, the hair just won't cut it alone. I liked it when his hair was up in the front end. Long or short, for that matter. No matter how he tries, and i'm not saying he tries to look ugly, though, he is still goreous. And no one can say otherwise, because it's undeniable. He is H-O-T! I'm not trying to put the point across that i'm obsessed, but it's true that he's hot. There are a lot of actors out there who are undeniably good-looking.
I went on the website, and i found a quiz. It turns out i really am a hard- core CSI fan.
And for all those that join me in this love, more power to ya!!!!

Movie Award Rules
As i was watching the Golden Globe speeches, i came up with a list of award speech/appearance rules:
#1:(speech) NO ums, uhs, ers, or ahs! No exeptions!
#2: (speech)Please don't trail on, unless you have no ums, uhs, etc., 'cause then this rule dosen't apply to you.
#3:(appearance) Concerning women, we're not interested in your midrift! Please cover it up! A great example of a very good looking, yet very modest dress was the one on Emmy Rossum! (her hair was le manifique, by the way, and her earrings, oh!) And we don't want to see that breast job either.Or your back. Your arms are fully optional, but please at least have some straps on the dress.Translucent things don't pass.A couple years ago, Halley Berry had a red translucent midrift dress with flowers for the theme that she wore to the oscars, Sorry, Miss Berry, but no.
#4:(appearance) In my opinion, classic is the best, but shique(sp?) works, too. And please don't go for extremes.Please.
If y'all think of something more, i encourage you to tell me. Or you could just comment.I will probably think of some more come the oscars.

Gaaaahhh! So confusing!
Woof! This whole insert links thing is so confusing! I'm not really sure about what URL stands for, and i'm not sure of the correct way to type the blog site into this code thing. In need of assistance, here! When you first go over the stuff before you create your blog, blogger says that they are contantly working to make this stuff more simple and comprehensible. This inserting of links thing isn't so simple and comprehensible to me!!
latin= tootsie roll
Man, this whole blog thing ith tho cool! Cool moment: on thursday, the 12th, i was learning about refereeing(i play club volleyball) and keeping score with my age group, and the man teaching us asked us what the word "libero" means. Now, i study latin as a part of my homeschool, and "libero"(pronounced lee- bear-OH in latin, the volleyball term is pronounced lih-BEAR-oh) in latin means free. Thus, i was able to answer correctly the question, and in reward, much to the other girls' envy, got a tootsie roll!(they were being passed out to the ones who anwered correctly the questions being asked) It wath my third one! But really, it just felt good to put to use the latin i wath learning. That and getting how-in-the-world-did-you-know-that?!? looks from the other girls.Tee hee! By the way, the lithp is just another random thing i do just to feel weird. I was talking about it in the blog info.

intro
Hi. I discovered this whole blog thing a while ago but didn't think anything of it until when I found out about the freedom you can have on this thing. I'm liking that idea a lot. I guess I like it because I can express my ideas and opinions without really "freezing up", or forgetting what I was going to say in the first place. No real nervous side affects that somtimes come with talking to a person face-to-face. Plus I don't really have to care about what people are going to think of me and junk. Basically, I can express my thoughts w/o having to care about social reputations and what-not. It's pretty awesome.
Hey, do you think there's life out there? I do, just way too far away. I also believe that they are just like us, just on another "earth" , just less or more advanced, depending on when that particular " earth" was created by another deity, according to my religion(mormon, aka. lds).
